The Drill-Down feature allows users to change the detail level of data displayed in a dashboard item. After drilling down, they may also drill up to view more general information. To enable drill-down, click the button on the data ribbon. If the selected dashboard item contains several types of elements that can be used for drill-down, the ribbon will provide the appropriate buttons to switch between these types.
Only certain dashboard items support the drill-down feature. These are:
•Chart
•Scatter Chart
•Grid
•Pies
•Cards
•Gauges
Drill-down also requires that the data section contains several dimensions. When you turn on the drill-down option, the default view will show the data aggregated to the top level dimension only. Each time the user drills down, the visualization will be filtered by the value the user clicked on, and then it will display the data for the next level down.
