The Query Editor dialog allows you to create new SQL queries or edit the existing queries. The first page of the editor, shown below, allows you to define a SQL query by using a plain text editor or by using the Query Builder tool.
If the query uses one or more parameters, the Query Editor will have a second page in which you can define or review the settings for the parameter values. If the Expression option is unchecked, the Value must be a static value entered as either plain text or a number. If the Expression option is checked, the Value can be a dashboard parameter or an expression created with the Expression Editor. For more details on the Expression Editor, see that section.
