The Dashboard Designer allows you to group dimension values and display summaries for entire groups rather than individual values. You can arrange dimension values in groups of different sizes by specifying the appropriate group interval.
Text values support only two grouping intervals: No Grouping and Alphabetical. As you would expect, No Grouping means that the visualization will display each distinct value of the dimension. Alphabetical is the term for grouping by the initial letter of the value. Only the first letter is considered for the Alphabetical group interval.
Date values support the following group intervals. Beside each are example interval designations, using the default formatting. Note: Date values always include a time element. If no other time is specified, the default time is midnight, represented as 00:00:00.

•Week of the Month: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5

To change from the default group interval in the Designer, click on the drop-down arrow to the right edge of the data item box and select the desired group interval. Less common group intervals are organized in the “More” submenus.
